President’s Message: Thank-you 2019; Welcome 2020!

Welcome everyone to a new year and a new decade!

2019 was a busy year for our chapter and we couldn’t have done it without the help of our Board of Directors and Volunteers who shared their time, talents and energy and all our members who have supported us in our mission to Thrive!!

I would like to thank Mike Atkins, John Burr, Maria Anderson, Kieran Harrop, Alison Dunatov, Lynn Wark, Beth Page, Tamara Wichniewicz, Johanna Stiver, Tracy Houser, Delaney Tosh, Annette Siewertsen, Mary Crowley, Maureen Mitchell, Allan Vonkem, Sheila Leclerc, Tania Walter Gardiner, Florie Vargas, Rob Regner, Tammy Phye, Sharon Kelly, Olga Netchaeva, Eva Van Krugel, Jilly Hyndma and Sue Maitland.

We are sad to say goodbye to Mike, Maria, John and Tracy who have left the board. Our 2020 board is another dynamic, diverse and experienced leadership team. We have some new and some returning Directors and have added a second Director of Events to ensure we are providing the connection and core competencies that you have told us are important to you.  We are always looking for people to support the Directors in their portfolios. If you have time in your schedule please reach out to us and let us know.

On Dec 7th, we presented our annual report at the AGM.   Engagement in the chapter is at an all-time high and we ended the year with 150 active members!

Member education is a core tenet for us.  Over the past year we offered 28 training opportunities through virtual webinars, coach week, and in person events.

The fiscal health of the chapter is strong and we continue to look for opportunities to increase revenue. We have come to the end of our sponsorship with TruShield Insurance due to their inability to meet our members’ needs for coverage and we thank them for their support of our chapter over the past year.  We are developing a new partnership with WBECS and we are excited about the learning opportunities this will provide you as members and rewards to the chapter as a whole.
