Mid Island Coaches Network (MICN)
The Mid-Island Coaches Network (MICN) is a social networking branch of the Vancouver Island Coaches Association that provides networking and professional development opportunities closer to home for ICF/VI Coaches members and coaches located in the mid- to north island. MICN meets monthly in the Nanaimo area and rotates social networking meetings with learning sessions and workshops. ICF members and non-members in the Nanaimo/mid-island region are invited to join the MICN forum on their Facebook Group, Mid-Island Coaches Network, and attend monthly meetings. Please note that this Facebook group is a private group and can be accessed if you are a coach and by requesting membership to the group if you are a Facebook user. Look to the VI Coaches blog for news of upcoming MICN meetings.
ICF North American Western Region
“We’re a community of ICF leaders creating synergy and spirit through inspiration and support to serve our members and the coaching profession.”
At ICF Global 2012 in London, ICF Global announced an exciting new strategy with the aim to support membership regionally through providing a structured conduit of information from Chapter members to ICF Global and providing a means of creating more regional events in partnership with local Chapters of each region. The Western Region will have a council of Chapter Leaders who will meet regularly to discuss issues of importance to their members and best practices among their chapters. In turn, these regional councils will have a conduit to ICF Global to express their options on issues, raise concerns and present new opportunities.
- Regional specific identification of member benefits desired
- Better use of resources
- Sharing information and knowledge.
- Decision influencing group for ICF in a given region
- One voice – greater input for policy-making
The ICF is moving in this direction to better support ICF Chapters and the advancement of the ICF Brand. How does the new event structure benefit ICF members?
- More global access to quality education;
- Exploration of specific topics;
- Increase public awareness of coaching in every global region;
- Address social change; and
- Involve ICF community in-between events.
The ICF North American Western Region consists of the following Chapters:
- Vancouver Island
