“Why hire an ICF Credential-holder?”
Welcome to our directory of member coaches of the Vancouver Island Chapter of the International Coach Federation (ICF). As ICF members, we are governed by Codes of Ethics which establishes the professional code of conduct that you can expect as a client. ICF Member coaches are enrolled in or have at least 60 hours of coach specific training. “Credentialed” coaches (ACC, PCC, MCC) have additional training and experience that allow them to qualify for these designations.
Sharon KellySuccess Coach Successful Transitions
Is your hand open or clenched in a tight fist? It takes courage to open up! An open hand can be a metaphor for both a “letting go of” … perhaps of an old perception, pattern or way of thinking. An open hand is also a metaphor for being open to change and newness of life – at all stages and in various transitions. Sharon has transitioned into formal education to professional practice, with several distinct careers and from single young professional, to married, working mother of three to being an “empty nester”. She has managed significant health challenges personally and with loved ones. Life is full of change and challenge that can provide opportunities to transition and grow in one’s strengths, skills and sense of purpose.
Sharon’s people development career began over 20 years ago with coaching skills formalized through coach training with the Institute for Life Coach Training (ILCT). Sharon has facilitated courses and workshops at college and university. In addition she has been an Education Counsellor to students and potential students from all walks of life at many ages and stages. She works with people to create action plans in pursuit of goals as they work on topics such as career direction, vision development, self-regulation as well as time and priority management.
Sharon’s employment has been in government as a Recreation Therapist at the Yellow Head Youth Center, as a contract Child Care Counsellor with Independent Counselling Enterprises and in higher education at Red Deer College and at Vancouver Island University as both faculty, Educational Counsellor and Success Coach. She is a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) with the designation of PCC and is a Board Certified Coach (BCC) through the Center for Credentialing and Education
