Coach Activism is launched…!!
The air was electric as I watched 29 (of 42) participants from our global community literally and figuratively sign onto the Orientation call for our Coach Activism project. Participants on this project are from countries including Canada, the USA, Lebanon, South Africa, Britain, Greece, Portugal, just to name a few! There were the committee members who worked hard and passionately to bring the project to this launch day; there were the trainers who stepped forward to offer training in basic areas that we want to pay attention to when coaching in and around the refugee movement (trauma, ethics, boundaries management, transactional analysis, and cross cultural coaching); there were the six coaching supervisors who step up to support the coaches as they coached, and of course, there were the 20 coaches from both Canada and Greece!
June is a month of training and being introduced to the coachees, and the coaching will happen from July through December…a heartfelt thank you to all those who stepped into this global arena! You are giving back in a BIG way on a BIG stage!!
Lily Seto, Past President of our Vancouver Island ICF Chapter and coordinator of the CoachActivism project.
